DISMINUCIÓN DE LAS RESERVAS DE ENERGÍA EN FÚTBOL A LO LARGO DEL PARTIDO

Como en todo deporte, a medida que transcurre un partido de fútbol, las reservas de energía se van agotando. Estas “reservas de energía” es el glucógeno, que se almacena tanto en los músculos como en el hígado.

A medida que el glucógeno se va acabando, el futbolista no solamente disminuirá su rendimiento físico (velocidad de sprint, fuerza muscular, etc) sino también habrá disminución en aspectos cognitivos como es la toma de desiciones o alteraciones en la precisión de los pases, por ejemplo.

Este gasto de energía durante un partido depende de varias variables, los mas importantes son:

  • La distancia recorrida en un partido, lo cual depende también de la posición dentro de la cancha.

  • Intensidad del partido

  • Goles a favor o en contra (exigencia del partido)

En el estudio que les muestro en la figura, antes del partido el 73% de las fibras musculares estaban llenas de glucógeno, lo cual bajó a un 19% después del partido. Al final del partido, un 36% de las fibras musculares estaban prácticamente vacías y un 11% estuvieron completamente vacías de glucógeno.

Por esta razón es fundamental que todo deportista se preocupe de aportar antes, durante y después de cada partido la cantidad adecuada de hidratos de carbono, para así evitar un descenso en los niveles de energía durante el partido. Considerar este aspecto permitirá no solamente evitar un menor rendimiento físico sino también una disminución en la toma de decisiones y en la precisión de las jugadas.
